Pierre Otto Takes Helm as General Manager at Gaming Laboratories International South Africa

Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has announced the appointment of Pierre Otto as General Manager of its South African operations. This comes after necessary regulatory approval was secured. Otto, who joined the company in 2017, previously held the position of Senior Engineering Manager.

Before his time at GLI, Otto accrued extensive experience in the African gaming sector, serving in various technical roles at Sun International properties. Notably, his past roles include Senior Sales Manager at Scientific Games, Operations Director for WMS Gaming Africa, and Technical Manager at The Carousel Casino. This diverse range of experience and insight into both the operator and supplier sides of the business positions him well for his new leadership role.

GLI Expands in the Southern Hemisphere

In another strategic move by GLI to expand in the Southern Hemisphere, the company recently acquired all the outstanding shares of iTech Labs, a leading global gaming testing laboratory. Since its establishment in 2004, iTech Labs has been conducting testing from various locations in Australia, Asia, and Europe.

As a result of the acquisition, iTech Labs is now a fully owned subsidiary of GLI Australia, but will continue to operate as an independent entity. This expansion allows GLI to offer its international network of laboratories and connections to regulators to iTech's clients.

Future Implications for GLI

James R. Maida, President at GLI Group, expressed satisfaction with the acquisition. "We are pleased iTech will continue to be branded as iTech and will operate as they have over the past 19 years,” Maida said.

The appointment of Pierre Otto and the acquisition of iTech Labs are significant markers of GLI's intent to expand in the southern hemisphere.
